Expert Opinion
Picture this: you pick up a call from +12024079031 and a faux‑IRS agent with a thick accent demands payment or faces arrest. The pattern is unmistakable—recorded messages, fabricated case numbers, and high‑pressure tactics aimed at fear. This is a classic tax‑scam operation, often routed through robocalls or spoofed numbers to appear official. The safest play is to never return the call, never provide personal data, and block the number. Report the incident to the FTC and the IRS’s phishing‑report line; they track these threats. If you’re ever unsure, hang up and verify directly with the agency using known contact details. Stay skeptical, keep your information locked down, and let the authorities handle the scammers.

Exposing this scam is crucial; interestingly, when I pretended to be from the United States ICE Division, the caller was unaware of the irony, given the nature of his scam.
The script used by these scammers is identicle to the one I recieved, including the same name, foreign accent, and threat, and when I requested somthing in writing, they claimed no one was home to sign for it
A call was received from someone claiming to be IRS Agent David Miller, with a questionable accent and lack of proper terminology, attempting to intimidate with threats of arrest.
The phone, especialy landlines, are becomming a nagging problem on a daily basis, especialy during election periods, its unfortunate that scammers are getting more powerful and using fake IRS tricks to scare people, the best thing to do is ignore unknown numbers and dont return their calls, it seems to be working since they dont have anyone to scam when you dont answer
What's amusing is the combination of the thick accent and the name 'David Miller', however, it's concering that some people, especally the elderly, may fall victim to this scam, given that US goverment agencys operate independantly
