Important info: This number is indeed a legit Google number, but scammers can spoof it. In my case I asked Google for a callback to verify and got the code via call – totally legit. After checking reports and contacting Google support I confirmed the number belongs to Google. Still, only trust it if you requested the call or SMS yourself.
