Apparently, I also recieved a call today from a private number, and the person had an indian accent, claiming to be Fam Wilson. They gave me a number and adress, and then someone named Harry, with a chinese accent, told me I had to pay a $250 fee to get a $7000 grant. When I refused, he got angry and hung up.
Scam Alert: Fake Government Grant Offers
Summary — +12025594661
Expert Opinion
Bottom line: these calls are classic grant‑money scams. Scammers pose as a government agency, promise a $7,000 payout, and demand an upfront Western Union fee—usually $250‑$260—to “process” the grant. They often cite a vague “grant department” and use a 202‑area code to appear official. Never send money or share personal details to unlock a grant you didn’t apply for. If you receive a similar call, hang up, block the number, and report it to the FTC or your state consumer protection office. Stay skeptical of any unsolicited offer that requires payment before you receive funds.
