Last night's 7:40 call was unsettling and hopefully a one-time occurrence. Given the fact that I utilize a prepaid cell phone, it's ironic that they would target me. A bit of research would reveal that prepaid phones are not typically associated with affluent individuals, so it's puzzling that they would bother. Clearly, they need to rethink their strategy!
Why political calls bypass the Do‑Not‑Call list

Expert Opinion
Receiving a call from that number and finding a full mailbox can be frustrating. The calls are political robocalls, which are exempt from the federal Do‑Not‑Call list, so they may keep coming even if you’re registered. To limit them, add the number to your phone’s block list and enable carrier‑provided spam filters. Consider using a third‑party call‑blocking app that flags political surveys. Never return the call; the voicemail will only confirm they have your number. If the calls persist, file a complaint with the FTC or the FCC, and report the number to your state’s consumer protection agency.
