Why That “Government Grant” Call Is a Trap!

I got a call saying I qualified for a $9,500 grant, but I knew it was a scam

Following the call, I was asked to send $299 to receive a supposed grant of $9,000, which is a clear indication of a fraudulent scheme.

A call was made to my fiancé from Washington D.C. with claims of grant money eligibility, requesting payment for the supposed grant.

A man called from this number, claiming that the recipient had won a government grant, and asked for a minor by name, confirming address information and raising concerns about the source of the information.

A company referred me to this number, claiming I had won a government grant and would receive money via Western Union, which seemed suspicious

A call was recieved from this number, saying they were from the Federal Reserve and that I was going to recieve a $10,200 grant, unfortunatly I fell for it, after getting $180 put on a green dot card, they then said they needed $600 more on another card, still thinking about the grant and a reimbursement on the $600, I imediately knew it was a fraude

I gave them my Visa CC #, they said I need to pay a one time fee of $180 to recieve a government grant, but now I'm having doubts, maybe it's a scam, thats a possibillity

I recieved several calls from this phone number, a lady with broken accent said i had been choosed to recieve a government grant in amount of $10,200, i gave her my visa cc # and they said after i paid one time fee of $180, i would recieve funds in 30mins, i was given a confirmation # but never recieved any funds.

I answered the call and was told the same story, I stupidly gave them my account number, but not the routing number, hopefully I wont get screwed over

Following daily calls for two weeks, I finally answered and was informed of a supposed government grant; however, it turned out to be a scam

A call from a private number caught my attention, with the caller having a thick accent similar to South African, claiming I won a grant of $9,200 and providing a special code, asking me to call 202-697-9156 to claim the money, which I played along with due to its absurdity.

A scammer requested verification of loan repayment capability by loading funds onto a Green Dot card, a clear indication of fraud.

A call was received from this number, with the caller claiming a $9000 government grant or raffle had been won. A confirmation number, #st314, was provided, along with the name Daisy Johnson and a fake ID number, 42571. The caller also mentioned a contact person, William Watts.

A call was recived with asimilar sales pitch, and an ofer to contact manaer Lisa Ray at 202-697-9274, after an eariler call from 202-621-5429

A call was received today from someone claiming to be from the Federal Grant Dept, who stated that I had been randomly selected for a grant, but the call ended abruptly when I asked to be emailed instead

Today, I received a call claiming that I had been selected to receive a $7000 government grant and was instructed to call 202-697-9640 for further instructions. They asked me to send a one-time payment via Western Union, at which point I ended the call.
