Avoiding impersonation scams from immigration agencies

A call was received from an individual with an Indian accent claiming to be from Homeland Security, but it was identified as a scam.

Following multiple calls from a woman claiming to be from the immigration office, and subsequent calls from different numbers, it appears that a data breach may be targeting immigrants for scams.

A man claiming to represent ICE called me, stating that he needed to discuss issues with my immigration status and demanded personal information, threatening to take me into custody if I did not comply.

A woman with an Indian accent, claiming to be from USCIS, called me and alleged that there were issues with my I-94 and that I was under investigation. Upon accusing her of being a scammer, she became enraged and terminated the call. It was clear that this was a scam.

A woman, claiming to be from the Immigration office, informed me that there were reports filed against me from my home country. However, when I clarified that I was born in this country, she became agitated and eventually hung up the call.

A woman claiming to be associated with ICE called, addressing me by my full name, but the poor connection and background noise made it difficult to hear; when I mentioned this, she became irate and hung up, which raised suspicions of a scam given ICE's typical communication methods.

I've received multiple calls from an individual with an Indian accent claiming to represent USCIS, stating there were issues with my home country and I94 form. I terminated the call immediately, suspecting it was a scam, possibly facilitated by my presence on LinkedIn, where fake job postings often redirect to third-party sites.

I been recieving calls from this number since july, first time was a lady with indian accent, said she was from uscis, askin me bout my I94, but I told her I dont have to give her no information, I just hung up

During a converstaion with a guy having an Indian accent, he clamed my wife was under investagation and requestded personnal info such as SSN, which I relucted to provide over the phone, and insted askd him to send a hard copy, then he immediatly hung up

In a similar situation, an individual claiming to be from a certain department stated that my A# was not listed on my I94 card, which raised concerns.

Over the past 24 hours, I have received at least 10 calls from this number, and when I tried calling back, I was transferred to another line before hanging up

An Indian woman, allegedly from USCIS, called and made false claims about an immigration violation, but her unwillingness to provide identification or answers raised suspicions, and the call was terminated.

During the call from this number, a man claiming to be from the Dept of Immigration, with what sounded like an Indian accent, asked for my name and informed me that there were reports about me, inquiring if I had any communication from my home country, to which I replied that I am a citizen, prompting him to hang up abruptly.
