Expert Opinion
Scammer lowlife pretending to be calling from the IRS—these calls sound official but they’re nothing more than aggressive robocalls that try to frighten victims into sending money. The IRS never demands payment over the phone, never threatens arrest, and always follows up with a mailed notice. If you receive a call demanding cash, threatening legal action, or asking for personal data, hang up and verify by calling the IRS directly at 1‑800‑829‑1040. Report the number to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration and consider blocking the caller ID. Staying calm and double‑checking the source can save you from fraud.
