Stop These Robocall Refund Scams Now

Throughout the week, I've received the same recorded message multiple times; it begins with a male computer-generated voice claiming to be Alex Robert, a relationship manager, but further research found no credibility to this claim, and the number allegedly originates from Fremont, Nebraska.

I received a similar call with no identification, which suggests it could be a scam

The caller didn't identify their company but left a message asking me to contact them about a refund, leaving their number twice.

I have been targeted by a scam in which the company claims I am due for a refund, despite having no prior business with them, and I choose not to engage with such suspicious activities

Contrary to what might be expected, this scam does not involve checks. Instead, the scammers aim to either extract credit or debit card information or gain access to the victim's computer to steal data. If they succeed in accessing the bank account, they create a false deposit and then ask the victim to purchase gift cards to refund the supposed overpayment. Later, the bank reverses the false deposit, leaving the victim with financial losses and potential bank fees.

Beware of their tactics, they'll try to trick you into cashing a fake check and then demand money

A call was received regarding a refund due to the IT department's changes and company closure, with a callback number provided as 2038649117

Same old story, they talk about refund and all that, came through as a privite number

The phone number 203-864-9117 is reportedly a scam

The caller abruptly switched to a robotic message mid-sentence, mentioning 'changes in our IT department' and a refund, but calling back yielded no answer; I only returned the call because they used my local area code, and I advise others not to call back due to potential scam risks.

Upon recieving the same call, i utilisied a reverse phone number search which revealed it to be a scammer robocaller number

Despite the company's claim, I was asked to call this number back for a refund of $299, but I havn't payed them anything.

Fortunately, the SupRemo remote computer access website was recognized, preventing a potential scam.

This number has called multiple times today, leaving the same message regarding IT and a refund.

When I called this number back, they instructed me to search for 'supremo' on my personal computer, but I misled them by claiming to be using a government-issued computer that would track my activities

The recording from this number matches those previously mentioned, with the company name conveniently provided before the voicemail began.

A message was received claiming a refund from a company that was closing down its department, which may be a tactic used by scammers.

My experience is identical to the one described above.
