I received a call on my cell phone from a male with a lot of background noise, and I couldn't understand what he was saying, so I hung up. Fortunately, I found this website, which has been helpful in identifying the number and sharing information with others, especially seniors like myself.
Why That Government Grant Offer Is a Trap!

Expert Opinion
Yesterday evening I was reminded how persistent these grant‑offer scams have become. Callers claim a secret government grant of $7,500‑$9,200 and demand an upfront payment via Western Union or similar services. They rarely provide a name, often spill vague agency titles, and use noisy backgrounds to mask their identity. If you receive a call like this, hang up immediately, block the number, and never send money to unknown parties. Report the incident to the FTC and your phone carrier’s spam‑filter service. Stay skeptical of unsolicited offers that sound too good to be true.
