Expert Opinion
Block the number and let the call go to voicemail; don’t engage with any threats about sheriffs or bail bonds. Scammers often masquerade as debt collectors or bail‑bond agents to pressure you into paying. Register the number with your carrier’s spam‑filter and report it to the FTC. Keep personal and financial info offline until you verify the caller’s legitimacy through official channels. If you suspect a fraudulent debt claim, request written verification before any action. Stay vigilant and use call‑blocking apps to reduce repeat harassment.
