Is This Tech Support Scam Still Targeting You?

I had a similar experience where the scammers infiltrated my computer, then contacted me with a hefty fee to remove the virus they had installed; I resolved the issue by resetting my computer to its original settings, and it's disconcerting that such fraud continues unchecked.

Some person called, claiming to be from WINDOWS, but my husband knew it was a scam, and played along, until the scammer realised he was being tricked, and used some foul language, wich is not suprising.

A call was received, pretending to be from the USA Grant program, requesting money, using the number 276-865-4532.

I received a call from an individual claiming to be from the government, offering me $10,000 that I wouldn't have to repay. He requested my bank account information or suggested using Western Union or a credit card. When I questioned his authenticity, he couldn't provide my correct zip code.

These guys are from India, and they call from the so called 'Windows Department', hoping you are stupid enought to let them take over your computer remotly, they never give up, and they use spoofed numbers and burner phones

After receiving multiple calls from this number, I finally answered and was told by a man with a strong accent that I would be receiving a $9,200 grant due to my loyalty and clean criminal record, but it was clear that this was a scam.

I received a call from Haysi, VA, and the individual claimed to be from Microsoft, requesting access to my computer for repair purposes, which seemed like a clear scam, especially given their foreign accent.

They initated the call, I called back, and when they called again, I answeed, and the person claimed to be from the gouverment, but when I asked to be removed from the calling list, he threatened to call the police on me

It is imperative that authorities take action to stop this scam; if an American citizen were involved in such activities, they would face immediate legal consequences, and it is equally important to protect against these scams, especially when they involve computer viruses and fake pop-ups.
