Is This Debt Collector Call a Scam?
Summary — +12817688939
Expert Opinion
Like a bad looped ringtone that never ends, the +12817688939 pattern repeats a classic debt‑collector script mixed with automated hold music. Callers drop a generic “you’re on hold” message, then slip into a rehearsed claim about an unpaid medical bill, often citing a real collection agency like ARC to sound legitimate. The use of dead‑air voicemails and “ring‑only” recordings is a red flag for robocall scams and spoofed numbers. Protect yourself by letting the call go to voicemail, checking the debt directly with the original creditor, and using carrier‑provided call‑blocking tools. If a claim feels off, report it to the FTC and your phone carrier.

When i answer the call, a recording come on, saying i am caller number 4, 5, 3, etc, waiting to speak with a representative, this is ridiculious
