Expert Opinion
Like a chameleon changing colors, this number slips into your caller ID and pretends to be a trusted credit‑card voice. Callers repeatedly claim overdue Discover payments, drop a generic 1‑800 number, and disappear after a few seconds or a brief voicemail. The pattern—high‑frequency calls, vague “personal business” pretexts, and no live agent—matches classic spam tactics. Hang up immediately, avoid sharing personal data, and block the number on both landline and mobile. Verify any alleged debt directly with the card issuer using the number on the back of your card, not the one provided in the call. Report the call to the FTC and your phone carrier’s spam‑filter service for broader protection.
