Expert Opinion
These calls are classic scams that masquerade as legal notices to pressure you into handing over personal info. Callers hide their identity, use vague case numbers, and drop toll‑free 888 or 855 lines to appear legitimate. Never provide Social Security, banking, or credit details to unsolicited callers, and do not call back the number they leave—trace it first. Hang up, block the number, and report the incident to the FTC or your state consumer protection office. If you’re truly concerned about a legal matter, the court will send a certified letter directly, not a vague voicemail.
