A robotic voice claims to be from Credit Card Services, stating that I need to contact them urgently to lower my interest rate, which supposedly expires soon, and prompts me to press a number to speak to an operator or discontinue the calls.
Why Are You Getting “Consumer Debt Relief” Scam Calls?

Expert Opinion
Like a swarm of gnats buzzing around a porch light, these calls swarm any number they can snag. Most of the reports point to a credit‑card interest‑rate reduction scam, often labeled as “Consumer Debt Relief” or similar variants. They rarely leave a full voicemail and frequently spoof locations like Geneva, FL. To blunt the nuisance, register on the national Do‑Not‑Call list, use carrier‑provided call‑blocking tools, and consider a third‑party blocker that updates dynamically. Also, avoid engaging with any automated prompts—pressing keys can confirm your number as active. Regularly review your phone’s block list and stay wary of “final notice” language.
