Expert Opinion
Block the number immediately if you suspect fraudulent activity. Many reports tie this caller to bogus Yahoo verification scams that aim to harvest credentials or install malware. Treat any unsolicited call claiming to be Yahoo support with skepticism, especially when they request personal data or direct you to unfamiliar links. Verify the legitimacy by contacting Yahoo through official channels on their website, not via the phone number provided. Consider enabling two‑factor authentication on all accounts to reduce the impact of a compromised password. Report the number to your carrier and to the FTC to help curb the spread of these scams.
