Bernett Research survey calls—how to stop them!

Expert Opinion
Watch out for relentless calls that keep ringing past reasonable hours. Under U.S. telemarketing rules, most survey firms must honor the National Do Not Call Registry and may not call after 9 pm local time unless you’ve given prior consent. If the number keeps showing up, first ask for a written opt‑out and confirm the company’s name. Record the call details, then file a complaint with the FTC and your state consumer agency. Use built‑in call blocking or a third‑party app to shield your line, and never share sensitive personal data until you’ve verified the caller’s legitimacy. Protecting your privacy starts with clear boundaries and timely action.

A survey regarding a local sheriff election in Salinas is being conducted, with frequent calls made to my number until I agreed to participate in exchange for them to cease contact
On a Sunday at 4pm, I received an unwanted call from this number, requesting my participation in a survey about baby items received in the mail. After granting them a few minutes of my time, I was dismayed to discover that their company seems to be poorly managed, allowing calls to be made at inconvenient hours. Hopefully, this will be the only survey they ask me to complete.
It's unfortunate that these callers don't have a way to know we don't want their calls, and legally, they're only required to keep an internal Do Not Call list, adding us if we request it, allowing us to take action if they call back after 30 days.
The assertion that one must take a particular job is not a valid justification for making unwanted calls, and it is not the responsibility of the recipient to accommodate these calls. The suggestion to simply be courteous is dismissed.
Speaking on behalf of my colleagues, we apologize for the inconvenience; we're simply trying to make a living and meet our quotas; if you could kindly answer our calls and decline politely, we'd be more than happy to stop calling

It's worth noting that telemarketing rules don't apply to tele-survey companies. If you hang up, they can call back immediately. Furthermore, being on the National Do Not Call list or having an unlisted number doesn't apply to tele-surveyors, as they have their own DNC list. To address concerns, it's best to contact the companies that hired the market research firm, such as Bernett Research, and request to be added to their DNC list.
Despite requests to stop, calls from this number persist at all hours of the night, ignoring my pleas for peace.
As far as I'm concernd, every company should comply with the Do Not Call Registry, it's annoyng when they say they're not soliciting but actualy are.
