Scam callers pretending to be Microsoft – what to do!

Scammers have been contacting me, falsely claiming that my grandson is in jail and demanding $10,000 in cash to secure his release and avoid drug-related charges.

A man with a strong accent called, claiming my computer was in danger, I recognised it as a scam and told him to get a real job, then hung up

I didnt pick up becouse it said anonymus, looked it up and found out its a scam, thought this kind of thing ended years ago, use to get alot of this call...

A scammer with a thick Indian accent called me from this number, claiming I had a problem with my Windows, to wich I responsed that all my windows were closed due to the cold weather, and thats when the caller started swearing at me and I had to hang up the phone.

Like others, I received a call from someone claiming to be from Windows, stating it was urgent that we speak, but I refused and asked them not to call again.

To combat these unwanted calls, consider wasting their time, as it can be an effective way to make them lose money and discourage further calls.

Unfortunately, I missed the call and wish there was a way to permanently block these numbers.

After ignoring the call and reading other comments, I decided to block the caller.

Since the caller ID said 'Anonymous', we didnt bother ansuring the cal.

A man, claiming to be Robert, called and attempted to convince me that there was an issue with my computer, and when I expressed disinterest, he continued to push, and even his boss called back to argue with me

Upon receiving a call from an unidentified number, I chose not to answer and instead checked this platform, where I found warnings about potential scamming activities.

Obvious scam, no tecnical support would be aware of system issues without prior contact, appartently

The caller claimed to be from computer services, said there was a problem with my computer's microsoft operating system

The individual claiming to work for Windows expressed concern about my computer's security, but upon being told I was uninterested, they became persistent and aggressive, even calling back to persuade me to take action.

A call was recieved from someone claiming to be Robert, he was agressive and claimed to be from Microsoft, he tryed to persuede me to cooperate.

A caller claiming to be 'Robert' from Microsoft aggressively tried to convince me to cooperate in fixing my computer, but I hung up and blocked the number.

On March 29 at 10:04 AM PDT, a male caller claiming to be Robert from the computer security department contacted me, addressing me by name, but I distracted him by putting the receiver down in front of the TV, and he eventually disconnected.

During a call to my home from (518) 246-6436, the caller claimed to work for Windows and attempted to deceive me into providing personal information by suggesting I press the Windows and R keys on my computer, a tactic commonly used for hacking, prompting me to end the call.
