Expert Opinion
It’s odd how a single number can flood inboxes with relentless debt‑collection calls, yet most people feel powerless. The callers rarely identify themselves, sidestep verification, and pressure you to pay before you see any paperwork. First, request a written validation of the debt within 30 days; without it, you can ignore the demand. Use your phone’s built‑in call‑blocking feature or a third‑party app to silence repeat calls. Report the number to the FTC and your state attorney general, especially if the calls violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Recording the conversation (where legal) often discourages further harassment.
