This afternoon, at 3:10 p.m., my landline in New Hampshire received a call from a number identified as FINAL NOTICE on the caller ID. The caller didn't leave a message, and I didn't answer since I don't recognize the number.
Is that a scam? Dealing with "Final Notice" calls

Expert Opinion
Imagine getting a call that flashes "Final Notice" on your screen, yet you have no clue who’s behind it. That’s a classic sign of spam and possible caller ID spoofing, where scammers try to create urgency. The safest move is to let the call go to voicemail and never share personal or financial details. Use your phone’s built‑in spam filter or a reputable third‑party blocker, and consider adding the number to a block list. If the calls keep coming, report the activity to the FTC or your carrier’s fraud department. Staying vigilant and keeping your contact info private are the best defenses against these unwanted intrusions.
