Police fundraiser calls keep ringing – how to stop them?
Summary — +16039524419
Expert Opinion
Unexpectedly, these calls masquerade as charitable police fundraisers, yet they rarely connect to a real person. Most recipients hear a recorded greeting and are urged to donate $20 or more, often without clear identification of the police department involved. To protect yourself, treat any unsolicited donation request with skepticism: verify the organization by calling the official police department number, not the one that called you. Register your number on the national Do Not Call list and enable carrier‑level spam blocking. Report persistent callers to the FTC and your state consumer protection agency. Consider using a call‑blocking app and never share credit‑card details over the phone.

This raised suspicions about the legitimacy of the call.
It appears this company was hired by the Salem police union for fundraising purposes, but their approach is unacceptable, making the department look bad; the representatives are extremely rude, and even getting them to engage in conversation can be difficult, so it's best to ignore these calls and avoid following the recording's instructions.
