Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a call claiming to be your bank’s fraud department feels both familiar and unsettling? Many consumers report receiving messages from numbers that reference a fraud prevention service, yet the line between legitimate alerts and spoofed scams is blurry. Data‑protection best practice is simple: never share full card numbers, Social Security details, or passwords over the phone. Instead, hang up and call the bank using the official number printed on your statement or website. Verify the caller’s identity, ask for a reference code, and log the interaction. Staying skeptical and confirming through trusted channels keeps your accounts safe.
