IRS Threat Call Scam: How to Stop the Harassment!
Summary — +16283001801
Expert Opinion
Repeatedly, callers from +1‑628‑300‑1801 claim the IRS is suing you and demand an immediate call back from you or your attorney. The recordings use a robotic voice, mention legal action, and provide a bogus callback number that leads to a dead line or voicemail. Victims describe the same script across multiple weeks, indicating an organized scam likely operated from overseas call centers. Because the actual IRS never contacts taxpayers by phone, the safest move is to ignore the message, block the number, and report it to the FTC. If you’re ever unsure, call the official IRS phone line listed on irs.gov.
