Windsor, CA Telemarketer Spam – What to Do!
Summary — +17078369630
Expert Opinion
Oddly enough, the silent calls keep popping up even though the number shows as disconnected. Most victims report a Windsor, CA caller ID and a vague solar pitch that never leaves a voicemail. These are classic robo‑dialed telemarketing scams that use spoofed IDs to bypass Do‑Not‑Call filters. The safest move is to block the number immediately and add it to any built‑in spam filter or third‑party blacklist app. If a call slips through, hang up without engaging and report the incident to the FCC or your phone carrier. Regularly updating your block list keeps the nuisance from returning.

According to the Truth in Caller ID Act, the FCC has strict regulations against the transmission of misleading caller ID information intended to deceive, harm, or fraudulently obtain something of value, with penalties reaching up to $10,000 per violation. For telemarketers, the rules require the display of their phone number or that of the seller they represent, along with their name or the name and number of the company, ensuring that the displayed number is callable during business hours for individuals to request not to be called, a regulation that applies broadly, including to companies with established relationships with the called parties.

It's essential to note that reporting scammers and criminals is possible, despite the challenges involved. My previous response, over a year ago, highlighted this point. The fact that they may not be aware of certain information hinders their ability to take the necessary steps to address the issue, which can be a lengthy and complex process. As I mentioned earlier, the details about call blocking are available in my previous post, although the information may be somewhat outdated by now. Nowadays, I make sure to include this clarification in my posts to avoid misunderstandings, as some individuals might assume it's an automatic call blocker without reading the context.
While having a call blocker can help, it's not foolproof due to the rise of fake numbers, and the DNC list is ineffective against spammers who disregard it.
