I received a call from this number, supposedly to confirm my operational hours due to Covid.
Google Maps hour‑check call – is it a scam?
Summary — +17808513579
Expert Opinion
It’s odd how a routine request for business hours can turn into a full‑blown scam. Callers using the +1‑780‑851‑3579 number repeatedly claim to be from Google Maps, demand your hours, and often sound rude or robotic. Because Google never contacts merchants by phone for simple updates, any unsolicited call of this kind should be treated with suspicion. Hang up immediately, verify any changes only through the official Google My Business dashboard, and block the number. Never share login credentials or confirm details over the phone, and report the incident to Google’s support team.
