Capital One scam calls – how to protect yourself!

Expert Opinion
Watch out for unexpected calls that claim to be from Capital One. Never share your Social Security number, credit‑card details, or login credentials over the phone unless you initiated the call using the number on the back of your card. If a caller asks for personal info, hang up and call the official customer‑service line yourself. Keep records of the call—time, name, what was requested—and report suspicious activity to the FTC or your bank’s fraud department. Using a separate, verified number protects you from spoofed scams and helps stop fraudsters from exploiting legitimate brand numbers.
