Fifth Third Bank Scam Calls—How to Stop Them!
Summary — +18002408151
Expert Opinion
It’s odd how a single spoofed number can flood inboxes while pretending to be a big regional bank. Callers repeatedly claim to be from Fifth Third Bank, use foreign accents, and demand personal data like birthdates or account numbers. Hang up immediately if you didn’t expect the call, never share sensitive information, and verify the request by calling the official bank number from a statement. Register the number with your carrier’s block list, report the incident to the FTC and the FCC, and consider a call‑screening app. Staying skeptical and blocking these spoofed attempts can stop the phishing cycle before it harms your finances.

To resolve any uncertainty, contacting your local branch directly is advisable. An individual with a Jersey accent, claiming to be from the main branch in Ohio, spoke with me over the phone. After expressing my intention to contact my local branch, the conversation was terminated. Upon notifying my local branch of this incident, they documented two suspicious numbers that had been in contact with me over a two-day period. Despite their initial unawareness of such activity, they agreed to investigate further. Notably, the caller ID displayed Fifth Third Bank on the first day, but indicated an unknown caller on the subsequent day. The best course of action is to either ignore these calls or block the numbers altogether. If you are confident in your account status, visiting your local branch or reporting the incident to them is recommended, as legitimate institutions do not demand personal information over the phone.
