Fraudulent call claiming computer issues—be cautious; this isn’t the first time I’ve gotten one.
Tech support scam callers – how to spot the fake Microsoft alerts!

Expert Opinion
If a caller with a thick accent tells you they’re from Microsoft and want you to run weird commands, it’s almost always a tech‑support scam. Don’t let them see your screen or hear your password – just hang up. Add the number to your phone’s block list, report it to the FTC (ftc.gov/complaint) and consider a call‑screening app. Scammers often reuse the same script, so if you hear talk about a "virus" or a "Windows error" and they ask you to press Win+R, that’s a red flag. Stay skeptical, keep your computer updates current, and never grant remote access to strangers.

The experience of having information taken is frustrating and annoying
I received a suspicious call from an individual claiming to be from Microsoft, who introduced himself as Lee Martin in a thick accent, and provided a phone number, 347-589-0107, which I found to be unmanned when I attempted to call back, prompting me to warn him not to contact me again, reminiscent of a similar incident months prior that I had not reported, and I sincerely hope this scammer is brought to justice.
The call was brief, consisting of dead air followed by a computerized voice saying 'goodbye', which seemed inappropriate given the late hour of 9:45 PM
The caller, who appeared to be from a foreign country, was difficult to understand, except for the word "incident", which was all I could make out, so I suggested they find someone who speaks English and they hung up.

Surprisingly, I got a call from this number today and it was some Middle Eastern guy saying he was from my local utility company (APS) and then it disconnected, I hit my caller id to redial and it rings into "Ladies, welcome to America's Hottest [***] Line", so what the heck is going on with these scams, God I beg of you oh Holy Father, please eliminate the scum bags from this planet, and by the way, I dont think God will answer my prays.
