Scam Alert: Fake Discover Bank Phone Call
Summary — +18003477000
Expert Opinion
Calls from +18003477000 are almost always a spoofed attempt to pose as Discover Bank (or occasionally other institutions like Bank of America or the IRS) and pressure you into giving personal info. The scammers use urgent language—"your account will be closed," "call within 48 hours"—to trigger panic. Never call back the number they provide; instead, hang up and dial the official number on the back of your card or on the bank’s website. Never share your SSN, account numbers, or passwords over the phone. If you get a vague letter or email, verify it directly with the institution before taking any action.

This is definitely not a legitimate Discovery card services call, but rather an attempt by scammers to deceive people; it's essential to verify the caller by contacting the number on the back of your card instead of relying on caller ID, and remember that a person's character is reflected in their actions, not their words.
