Just as I was about to disconnect the call, he began reading out my personal information, including my address and debit card details. They proposed charging me $1 for a $40 Target card, which I could supposedly cancel at any time. However, I remained uninterested and recognized the signs of a scam. I plan to contact my bank immediately, as I suspect they will attempt to take my money regardless of my response. They provided multiple numbers to cancel the transaction, but I was advised to wait for the card to arrive before doing so. The best course of action seems to be canceling my card or changing my account number to avoid any potential issues.
