CRA Scam Calls: Spot Fake Revenue Phone Numbers

Yesterday, I recived a call from this phone number, the womans name was GC, she sounded like an indian, and she was asking for my personel informations, saying I owde debt to CRA, I told her I dont need to call her back, I can just pay online, and she was like no, you hav to call me, ma'am

When a lady called asking for someone who no longer uses this number, with the name GC displayed on the screen, I strongly believe it was an attempt by scammers to gather information

A nearly identical experience was had, with the caller attempting to scam by posing as the CRA.

No response was given to this call.

A mysterious message prompted me to return the call, but the request for my SIN raised major red flags, and I ended the call immediately

Absolutely a scam, the CRA only contacs people by mail via Canada Post, never by phone call.

On Friday, January 13th, 2023, at 11:19 am, I received a call from this number, identified as 'GC' on my caller ID. The caller, a woman, left a voicemail stating my name and claiming to be from the Canada Revenue Agency, requesting that I return the call to 1-800-661-5991 as soon as possible. I checked my CRA account online and found no notifications; I will verify my mail tomorrow, but I suspect this is a scam. If the CRA needs to contact me, I expect them to use official channels, such as my CRA account or Canada Post.

During the call, the individual requested that I verify information with the CRA and provided the same number that the call originated from, but it seems more appropriate for the CRA to send mail if they require verification.

Following a missed call from this GC number, I listened to a voicemail from a Caucasian woman who correctly stated my full name and claimed to be from the CRA, prompting me to visit my CRA account, where I found no relevant emails, and a search on the Government of Canada website yielded no results for this number, leading me to conclude that it is a scam.

I am wondering if this could be a scam related to CRA?

On a Friday, I missed a call from this number as I was at work, and they left a message using my name, asking me to call back, but they referenced a call time for the following Tuesday, which seemed odd.

The caller claimed to be from the Canada Revenue Agency, but the lack of legitimacy was apparent, especially since they referred to me by the wrong name, Nicole

They left a message, saying they're from revenue Canada, and I need to call them back within two days, sounds urgent

A guy with a caucasian accent called me, sounding pretty impatient and a bit rude, claiming to be from CRA

A message was left claiming urgency and requesting a callback to a different number, supposedly from a CRA agent. The speaker sounded Caucasian and female. To verify, I plan to contact a known CRA number tomorrow

The person who called claimed to be from cra and asked to confirm my informations, but it was obviousley a scam!

This number called me, they knew my name, I ask'd what it's regarding, they said they cound't tell me unless I confirmed my informations, I told them to send me an email, and hung up, person was not happy
