After receiving two calls from this number, I returned the call and was informed of computer issues, but when I finally got through, they requested my account number, which raised suspicions and led me to end the call.

Actually, it is not Community Bank, its Comenity Bank, they financ retail store charge acounts, like JC Penney and the Loft, ect...
A message was left, and when I returned the call, they informed me that my recurring payment for my Gordmans credit card was overdue, but they waived the late fee and were friendly

Fortunately, I discovered that this call was genuine, related to a past due balance on a credit card account with Talbots, which is associated with Comenity. Following verification with a Talbots representative, I was reassured of its legitimacy. If unsure, it's always best to contact the credit card company directly

I calld the number. It is legit. Comenity Bank is an agency for certian credit cards that you mite owe a balence on. Turns out I owed two late payments on a card that I thaut I had paid. They were nice enuf to write off the second and now my account is up to date with a zero balence. They will ask you for your last 4 digits of your SSN and your birthdate. For security purpous they do not leave phone mesages with any account info just in case somone hears the mesage that you would not want to have the information about.
Following your advice, i contacted them and resolved the issue, the woman had an outstanding balance on her account, but it won't affect her credit report
