PG&E spoof scam: How to protect your account!

Following a disturbing call from this individual, who requested to speak with my 8-year-old son, I became alarmed when he turned hostile and issued threats after I refused. His behavior suggests suspicious intentions, possibly indicating a threat to children, prompting me to report him to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.

The caller is using a legitimate number deceitfully and demands payment to prevent electricity disconnection.

The language used in the call was Spanish.

This number is deceptive, claiming to be PGE, yet they threatened to disconnect my service unless payment was made, which is suspicious since I'm not even a customer in their service area.

I've had this call multiple times now.

This number has been identified as a PG&E scam attempt!

It's clear that they're spoofing a valid utility company's 800 number, as I've had two calls in five days, yet PG&E's website shows no account issues, and dialing the number connects me to the actual company, making this situation frustrating.

Fortunatly, I was able to block this number after they attepmted to contact me twice, it seems they were trying to pose as PG&E, but I havn't lived in Cali for 12 yrs so I knew it was a scam.

Upon answering a call from this number, a robotic voice speaking Spanish was heard, prompting me to hang up; this toll-free number is likely being spoofed by scammers, so beware and block unknown numbers

This number is being used to scam people into paying or faceing power cut offs, we're allways current with our bills, it's a scam thats currantly afecting our county

It's implausible that this call is genuinely from PG&E, as it appears to be a fraudulent attempt, given that I can access my account and the message left does not seem legitimate.

The caller falsely claimed to be from PG&E, stating that my electricity would be shut off within 30 minutes due to an unpaid bill
