Ocwen debt collector calls – how to protect yourself!
Summary — +18007462936
Expert Opinion
Recent analysis indicates a pattern of frequent calls from a mortgage servicer identified as Ocwen. Callers often claim to be collecting on a mortgage or offering loan assistance, and many callers speak with strong foreign accents, which can make verification harder. Recipients should confirm the caller’s identity by asking for a written notice, check the account status on the lender’s official website, and never share Social Security numbers or banking details over the phone. If the call is unwanted, add the number to your Do Not Call list, use call‑blocking tools, and report persistent harassment to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or your state attorney general.

As someone who works in collections, it is essential to note that the Do Not Call List does not apply to companies that are not soliciting, and due to privacy laws, messages are often not left, even if a voicemail is available, to protect the individual's identity
As someone who works in collections, I can attest that collection agencies are allowed to call between 8 am and 9 pm, any day of the week, as long as they adhere to these time frames. I've had a positive experience with this particular company, having a loan through them, and they've been helpful and understanding. If consumers are rude to them, they might receive a similar attitude in return. It's best to cooperate with them if you know your loan has been sold.

Recently, I had the pleasure of experiancing Ocwen's exceelent customer service, they've been absolutly kind on the phone and helful with my loan, especialy when they aproved my Shared Appreciate Modification without me even asking, which reducd my monthly payment by $300, now I'm paying 2.5% fixed, they are supper kind and respectful, unlike my previus mortgager who were always rude if I paid after the 1st.
Ocwen's incompetence and refusal to respond to issues have led to significant frustration.
It's essential to report such incidents to the relevant authorities, including the FBI and state attorney general.

Ocwen has been contacting me daily, multiple times, on my cell phone, requesting personal information such as my social security number and address. I have refused to provide this information, citing that they should already have it if they are contacting me. Recently, they have been leaving messages in Spanish, which I don't understand, and sending letters in Spanish, which I cannot read. Despite my efforts to communicate with them in English, they continue to send unreadable emails and incomprehensible voicemails.
Ive been recieving these unwanted calls on my landline for months, and despite trying to contact them, Ive never spoken to a human, and their website appears to be legitimite.
It appears I'm not alone in this experience, as numerous individuals have reported encounters with Ocwen, who consistently withhold their identity when calling from various numbers. Upon answering, they request to speak with my husband, but I inform them that I'll address their inquiries instead. Only after some prodding do they reveal themselves as representatives of Ocwen, asking if they can schedule a callback. When I inquire about the lack of transparency regarding their company's identity on caller ID, they seem perplexed and unable to provide a reasonable explanation.
For several days, I've been receiving messages on my answering machine from a mortgage company, requesting that I call them, despite having no account with them, and when I finally spoke to someone, they asked for my social security number, which I refused to provide

I recieved a call from a lady who apperently was from India, but as a former Fraud Specialist, I know I dont have to verify any informations, especialy not my social secuirity number. I'm not aware of this company being involed with my mortgage, and the lady didnt even know her own company's phone number.. I want to be put on a do not call list
As a veteran Loan Modification Negotiator, I have found that Ocwen consistently ranks among the most challenging companies to work with, due in part to their outsourcing of Loss Mitigation and Customer Service to India. The lack of effective communication, frequent calls to my clients, and inadequate knowledge of foreclosure procedures have solidified Ocwen's position as one of the worst mortgage services.
It's puzzling who these callers are; legitimate entities would likely contact me at home rather than my cell, which is why I'm skeptical.
Despite being on the do not call list, I continue to receive calls from 8007462936 every two days, and I have informed them that I will report them if the calls do not cease.

There is a long-standing issue with this toll-free number, which has been calling a business fax line repeatedly, even though the line does not have a receiver and the business has not had a mortgage for years, indicating a lack of intelligence in the calling system.
