Following a call from this number, I engaged with the caller, who refused to identify themselves until I insisted, and then they abruptly hung up.
Why is the National Recovery Agency calling you?

Expert Opinion
Imagine getting repeated calls from an unknown number that never leaves a voicemail, hangs up as soon as you ask who they are, and even blocks your callbacks. This pattern matches a typical debt‑collection harasser that often uses automated dialing. The safest move is to do not engage; let the call go to voicemail and record the date, time, and any recorded message. Send a written request for validation of the debt to the caller’s address, and block the number on your device. Report the behavior to the FTC, your state attorney general, and the credit bureaus if the call references your credit. Stay calm and protect your personal info.

National Recovery Agency is a completly useless company, they buy debt for pennies on the dollar and then trash your credit with debt that may not even be yours, i had to spend hours to get the debts removed from my credit report, dont bother talking to them on the phone.
Following numerous hang-ups to my business, I contacted them to find out who they were and why they were calling. Eventually, I spoke with a courteous representative named Mary from National Recovery, who explained their autodialer system and removed my number from their list.
