I have no affiliation with Walmart, having never made a purchase from them and not being a customer
Walmart spoof scam? How to protect yourself!
Summary — +18009666546
Expert Opinion
It’s startling how often a simple Walmart‑branded caller turns out to be a fraud. Most callers using +1‑800‑966‑6546 claim to be customer support, but patterns in the scripts—pressuring for personal data, vague order references, and a refusal to leave a voicemail—match classic scam behavior. The number is widely reported as spoofed, meaning the displayed ID can be faked to look like a legitimate retailer. To stay safe, let the call go to voicemail, never share credit‑card or Social Security numbers, and verify any request through the official Walmart website or app. Consider adding the number to a call‑blocking list and report it to the FTC or your carrier.

Apparently, the ordeal began with two phone calls from individuals claiming to be IRS agents, stating that an arrest was imminent and a six-month jail sentence would follow, all allegedly linked to phone number 202 899 9063. Following my inquiry, as a former Federal Officer, they terminated the call. Shortly after, I discovered an unauthorized $50 charge on my debit card to a number purportedly belonging to Walmart, 8009666546, which further investigation revealed was not affiliated with Walmart. Despite Walmart's website showing no record of transactions, I notified them of the incident to alert their IT security department. Given my use of Magic Jack phone service VOIP for my landline, I suspect this may have been the vulnerability exploited. After receiving another suspicious call, I disconnected the service. It is advisable for VOIP users to exercise caution, possibly closing accounts with Wells Fargo or Walmart, especially considering past security breaches.
