Comenity debt collector calls nonstop – how to stop them?

Expert Opinion
Late Friday evening, my phone lit up repeatedly with calls from +1‑800‑438‑8790. The pattern—multiple daily rings, no voicemail, automated prompts, and claims of a past‑due debt—matches typical debt‑collector tactics, often using caller‑ID spoofing and autodialers. To protect your data, let the caller send a written validation notice before sharing personal info, and file a complaint with the FTC or your state attorney general if the calls persist. Block the number through your carrier, enable do‑not‑call filtering, and consider third‑party call‑blocking apps. Keep a log of call timestamps and any recorded messages for evidence if you need to dispute the debt.
