Medicare Scam Calls from Montpelier VT: What to Do!
Summary — +18027783166
Expert Opinion
At 7:45 AM Pacific, callers using the +1‑802‑778‑3166 number were reported across multiple states, all claiming to update Medicare benefits and demanding personal data. The pattern shows a foreign‑accented voice, no voicemail, and repeated attempts, which aligns with typical scam behavior rather than legitimate telemarketing. Recipients should avoid sharing Social Security or Medicare numbers, let the call go to voicemail, and block the number in their phone settings. Reporting the number to the FTC or FCC can help curb future calls. Keeping an eye on caller ID spoofing and confirming any Medicare communication through official channels is essential.
