A claim was made that $399 would be charged to my account if I did not return their call, which is clearly a fraudulent scam.
Scam call red flags you need to know!

Expert Opinion
These calls are almost certainly a scam. The pattern—urgent threat of a $399 or $299 charge, mention of a vague “Global IT Service,” and pressure to cancel an unknown subscription—is classic caller ID spoofing used by fraudsters. Callers often claim they can access your computer or bank account, then disappear when you push back. Never provide personal or financial information, and don’t click any links they send. Hang up, block the number, and report it to your carrier or the FTC. If you’re unsure, independently call your bank or the legitimate service using a verified number. Staying skeptical is the best defense.
