Following a recent pizza order, a text message arrived with a 'papaginos verification code', which seems suspicious since the order didn't require verification; it's possible that using a coupon code from retailmenot may be connected to this incident.

Expert Opinion
Late last night, a wave of texts from 833‑800‑0294 started arriving with a “panda verification code” line. Most recipients haven’t requested any service, which points to an automated system trying to hijack accounts or test active numbers. The messages are typical of verification code spam used by fraudsters to lure users into sharing the code or to confirm ownership of a phone number. Block the sender, ignore unsolicited codes, and never reply with personal data. If you suspect an account was targeted, reset passwords on the associated service and enable two‑factor authentication. Report the number to your carrier.
