After conducting a google search, I discovered that the phone number that appeared on my caller ID was diffrent than the one provided by a Denise from this company, her extention was 8470, origionally the call came from 1-315-671-8470.
A message was left requesting a callback, claiming to be from BC/BS and asking to speak with Vanessa, but upon calling back, it directed to voicemail; a Google search revealed it to be a scam.
The caller ID displayed Excellus BCBS, but the callback number provided was this one, indicating a potential scam.
This is indeed the same call and scam that others have reported

This week, two calls were received from this number, with the caller introducing herself as LaShonda, claiming to work for BlueCross BlueShield.
LaFonda from BC/BS initally contaced me, stating I should return thier call.
I got a call from them today!
