Expert Opinion
Multiple complaints point to callers claiming to be First Credit Services. The script typically involves a vague reference to an old gym membership debt, pressure to confirm identity, and a demand for credit card details. Even when asked for proof, the caller may put you on hold or transfer to a “supervisor.” Best practice is to request written debt validation before sharing any personal information. Hang up if the request feels coercive, and verify the debt directly with the original creditor. Report suspicious calls to the FTC and consider blocking the number. Staying calm and keeping records can prevent fraud.
