Geek Squad scam calls – what to watch for?
Summary — +18506790699
Expert Opinion
Imagine receiving a call from +1 850‑679‑0699, where the voice claims to be from Geek Squad and warns you about an expired subscription. The script typically mentions a hefty renewal fee and urges you to confirm payment details immediately. This is a classic phishing attempt that relies on caller‑ID spoofing and urgency. Never share personal or card information over the phone, and avoid calling the number back. Instead, log in to your official Best Buy account or contact Geek Squad through the verified numbers on the retailer’s website. Block the offending number, report it to the FTC, and flag the email as spam.
