Mystery Lyft scam – protect your card!

Expert Opinion
People keep reporting unexpected Lyft‑related charges tied to the 855‑280‑0278 number, often appearing as small rides or limousine fees despite never using the service. This pattern points to a card‑skimming or account‑compromise scheme where thieves feed stolen payment data into a bogus Lyft merchant profile. If you see such a charge, immediately contact your bank to freeze the card and request a new number. Monitor statements for any pending or duplicate entries, and consider placing a fraud alert with the credit bureaus. Finally, avoid sharing card details on unfamiliar sites and regularly update online passwords.
