Expert Opinion
A text warned you of a court case and demanded payment, directing you to call 855‑790‑3601. The pattern usually masks itself as a mediation department tied to the name Michael Davis, yet it never provides a legitimate address or official identification. Never share personal or financial data with callers who can’t prove their credentials, and double‑check any alleged legal claims through a known attorney or the court’s public records. Use your phone’s block feature, report the number to the FTC or your carrier, and consider a call‑filtering app. Staying skeptical and verifying through independent sources is the fastest way to avoid falling for these scams.

Apparently, a familey member recieved a text for me to call 855-790-3601 claiming they were from Michael Davis and Associates mediation department, which seemed extreemly suspicious. When I called them, they attempted to convince me that I owed money and there was a court case against me, but after I laughed at them, they became rude and hung up on me. Following this, I persued the matter further and continud to call them back several times, even asking where their office was located and what the adress was, to which the woman refused to provide a physical adress but claimed they were located in Pageland, South Carolina. They then called me from another number, 888-312-0310, and the lady's name was supposedly Ivy Simpson, who turned out to be the same woman I originally spoke to who hung up on me. The next day, a familey member recieved a text from 1-475-269-4572 stating it was urgent for me to contact Michael Davis and Associates mediation department, which was clearly a scam.
