Expert Opinion
Never give out personal info to an unexpected caller. Verify the source by checking the official Social Security Administration number on the SSA website before returning any call. Legitimate SSA agents never request bank details, passwords, or payment over the phone, and they will usually send written confirmation for appointments. If the caller mentions a specific claim or uses a familiar name, ask for a reference number and hang up to call the agency directly using the official line. Keep a record of the call, report suspicious numbers to the FTC, and consider blocking the caller to reduce future risk.

I thought it was ssi who called me
The caller pretended to be from social security regarding a claim for my child, it was a scam
Apparently, this number belongs to the Social Security office in Mt. Laurel, NJ and I recieved a call to make an apointment to vist the office in-person, accomodation was necesary
The person on the phone claimed to be from the Social Security office, knew my appointment details, and introduced herself as Mrs. Shaw, but I became suspicious since the Social Security office never calls, and there was a bad connection with another conversation in the background. I told her I would call back, and she provided an alternate number, which I found suspicious after researching.
Exercise caution and avoid returning calls from this number.
