Expert Opinion
Heads up: unsolicited calls claiming to be from Dun & Bradstreet are a frequent scam that preys on business owners. Callers typically cite “activity” on your credit report and demand a payment to “update” your file, but the company they represent is not the real D&B. The safest move is to hang up and never return the call; the number is widely reported as a telemarketing source. If you’re curious, contact Dun & Bradstreet directly using the official phone number on their website to confirm any legitimate outreach. Add the offending number to your phone’s block list, report it to the FTC, and consider registering with the national Do‑Not‑Call registry to reduce future nuisance calls.
