Expert Opinion
Picture this: your phone lights up with a call from +18664445432, and the voice claims to represent Great Lakes. Before you share any personal data, pause and verify the caller’s credentials by calling the official Great Lakes number listed on your loan statements. Ask for a written notice that explains why they’re contacting you and what action they expect. If the call is about student loan issues, confirm that the account matches your records; many scammers pose as debt collectors to pressure you. You can also register the number on the National Do‑Not‑Call Registry or block it via your carrier. When in doubt, contact your loan servicer directly and report suspicious calls to the FTC.
