Upon answering, a recorded message from someone claiming to be Bob was received, but upon questioning, the recording repeated vague acknowledgments before offering to transfer the call to someone who could assist with a donation, prompting the decision to end the call.
Is the ‘Association for Police and First Responders’ a charity scam?

Expert Opinion
Ever wonder why a so‑called “First Responders Association” keeps ringing your phone with no message? The pattern points to a spoofed number used to disguise a charity‑style donation pitch, often delivered by an automated script that repeats “unhuh” until you hang up. Callers ignore Do‑Not‑Call lists, claim police or emergency ties, and pressure you for contributions. Block the number, report it to the FCC, and never share personal or payment info with unsolicited callers. If you receive a repeat call, let the voicemail fill up and let the carrier’s spam filter handle it quickly.

These individuals are scamming people in the name of charity.
Like others, I encountered a purported police association seeking donations, despite being on the 'Do Not Call' list, and the caller continued talking despite my repeated statements that I was in a meeting.
We've had two calls today from numbers claiming to be from Chicago. The first was from 'Mark Cruz,' and the second had no Caller ID. Fortunately, we have all 872 calls blocked, which prevented this likely scam from affecting us.
It's likely that these calls are asociated with the Police Officers Support Association, given the existing thread about them here, they called me too.
Calls are made without leaving any messages.
My sistem automaticaly disconnects the call, recognizing it as a robo call.
This number supposedly represents the First Responders Assoc, but the spoofed number and caller ID raise suspicions, leading me to block it.
