Why banks use third‑party fraud detection calls
Summary — +18772538964
Expert Opinion
Late last week, a familiar buzz sounded from 877‑253‑8964, and many users wonder if it’s a genuine fraud alert or a phishing trap. The consensus points to a third‑party fraud detection service that banks sometimes employ to flag suspicious card activity. The safest play is to never give personal details to the caller; instead, hang up and call the number on the back of your card or your bank’s official website. Verify the case number they mention and let the bank confirm any hold or replacement. Treat any request for full account info as a red flag, and keep a log of call times for reference.

Interestingly, this company appears to be legitimate, contracting for fraud calls on behalf of various credit unions, including my own. During the call, I was only asked for my billing zipcode and details about my last three transactions, which suggests they are not seeking sensitive information. Their methods seem relatively transparent, and they do not request personal or account information, instead validating based on the phone number provided.
This company is used by the bank that issue my debit card, they just want to verify some transactions, you can call your bank to verify if you want, they didnt ask me for anything except the case number, and just to verify if the charges was legit, it's all good!

This was clearly a scam call, claiming to be AT&T Federal Credit Union and asking me to call back at this number, or an alternitive number for international purposies
Noticeably, every few posts claiming a number is not legitimate are followed by multiple posts claiming it is, which seems suspicious.
I wholeheartedly agree, this is not legitimate.
The automated system calling from (877) 253-8964 is not legitimate. They requested personal information for verification purposes, claiming to be the fraud department of my bank. However, after verifying with my bank, it was confirmed that there was no fraudulent activity, and the call was not from their actual fraud department. Therefore, I strongly advise against providing personal information over the phone and recommend verifying such claims directly with your bank.

Obviusly a scam!!!!!! Ignoire what others have said trying to advace this con game. I contacted both of my banks directly as a precuation. Any legitmate fraud alert call from a reputible company would not leave such a "veiled" mesage.
